There are countless variations of the Wide Track styling package you can order for a Kahn Defender through their Chelsea Truck Company outlet. But before you get through them all, you have to choose whether you want a modern look, or a retro, vintage-inspired design.

We know that Kahn Design has some seriously tasty modern body kits and styling treatments for the Land Rover Defender. But when it comes to the vintage looking models, it gets tricky because it is, in essence, a restomod and that is a double-edged sword. Check out this Kahn Defender 2.2 TDCI XS 90, for example. One may find the mix of old and new in this SUV quite charming, while others may think it awkward and unsightly.

For our part we quite like what Kahn has achieved here with this 90, especially the Tamar Blue paint job which is a modern take on a classic Defender color. Other highlights of the exterior include Volcanic Black Satin roof, daytime running lights, shadow chrome headlights, X-Lander grille, sump guard, new front bumper, front and rear wide wings, Kahn bonnet lettering, bonnet vents and a large Chelsea Truck Company spare wheel cover.

Speaking of wheels, they are 16-inch 1948 Defend wheels with a satin black finish. As for the interior, Kahn Defender 90 can be specified with GTB sport seats and matching centre glove box, Churchill Time Clock Fascia insert in red, Billet and Leather steering wheel and vented foot pedals in machined aluminium. They ought to help justify the £34,720 price tag.
