They are not officially called Citroen no more, but DS Automobiles DS3 and DS3 Cabrio. Whatever, the point is the French car maker has just released a new version of its DS3 hatchback, one of them with a hole in the roof, and they are said to be more refined and dynamic than before.
Looks-wise, the 2016 DS3 bros are still very quirky and interesting – or as Citroen says “Avant-garde”. You get all the famous DS3 design cues like “DS Wings” front grille, LED lights, floating roof, two-tone body/roof colours and the shark fins on the sides. All in all, the car offers 78 body/roof combinations.
The upgraded interior of the 2016 2016 Citroen DS3 now features a 7-inch touchscreen which they say eliminates the need for 20 button on the center console, resulting in a clutter-free design, and does a lot of things with its Mirror Screen, a connectivity solution compatible with Apple CarPlay and MirrorLink. It also comes with “MyDS”, a free app informing them of their servicing schedule, fuel economy and parking location.
As for the engines, the new DS3 will be available in the UK with seven engines, including three PureTech three-cylinder petrol engines, two THP four-cylinder petrol units and two BlueHDi diesels. That is truly something for everyone. Out pick would be the Performance version with 208 hp and a Torsen limited-slip diff. The car also gets the Active City Brake system.
