Daimler is celebrating today the 130th anniversary of the invention of automobile with a unique special edition of the Mercedes S63 AMG Cabriolet at the Detroit Motor Show. Limited to 130 cars worldwide, this hugely expensive machine is called the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet Edition 130.
Although it is hard to discern what is special about the Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet Edition 130 for an uninterested person, the car comes with “alubeam silver” paint finish, the Bordeaux red fabric top and the matt black 20-inch 10-spoke wheels. These highlights add to the natural beauty of the droptop S63 and result in a spectacular look.
As for the interior, the Edition 130 features designo nappa leather upholstery in Bengal red/black or optionally crystal grey/black as well as the trim elements in AMG carbon/piano lacquer black. Being a special edition, the car also comes with a badge in the middle console and an engraving on the steering wheel bezel.
Mercedes-AMG S63 Cabriolet Edition 130 gets the 585 horsepower V8 engine of the standard S63 with no performance upgrades. That is the 226,457 Euro base price seems a bit unreasonable frankly. But hey, they do throw in a tailor-made AMG Indoor Car Cover and a key ring!
