Just like MG, Czech car maker Skoda has just realized there is good money to be made in the SUV market. So they are working on one, and here’s a preview of what it look like. Skoda VisionS Concept will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show, so we can expect a production version sometime next year.
Size-wise, Skoda VisionS Concept slots above the Yeti crossover, measuring 4.7 meters long and 1.9 meter wide. That might still seem small for a SUV with three rows of seats, but that’s where clever packaging comes to play, something Skoda is pretty good at.
The least Skoda-y feature of the VisionS is the design itself. The concept car introduces many new design elements which we will no doubt be seeing in future production models. You still recognize this car as a Skoda thanks to the signature front grille, but the shape of the lights, the bumpers, and the whole profile of the car are new. The designers have made sure to make the VisionS more muscular in order to convey a feeling of versatility and off-road worthiness.
Some of the styling features of Skoda VisionS Concept could be used for the car maker’s smaller products in the near future. For instance, we would love to see the next Fabia boast a chiseled and athletic look like this concept.
