One of the latest wheel treatments for the Mercedes AMG GT sports coupe come from guys at Forgiato Wheels who have fitted it with a set of their new but retro-inspired designs. That’s a quality the wheels share, to some extent, with the design of the car itself. So it works, rather brilliantly.
The Forgiato rims on this black Mercedes AMG GT are new FV1-D models from the Original series, featuring a simple but cool five-spoke design and a dished look. They have a simple brushed finish which makes a nice contrast with the dark finish of the exterior, proving you don’t have to go for brash colors to turn necks. Sometimes the simplest color combo is the most eye-catching.
One of the peculiarities of the design of Mercedes AMG GT is that it doesn’t respond well to visual modifications beyond a change of wheels. Almost all tuner AMG GTs we’ve seen so far – those with body kits and stuff – look rubbish. That’s the thing about this car. You must not mess with the body panels. If you have to modify it in some way, just bolt on some new wheels and change the color. Anything deeper and you runs the risk of ruining the whole thing.
