If you have been following our previous posts about RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT, you know the process of upgrading this car has been a gradual and fairly slow one. AT this stage, however, the car is fitted with pretty much all the goodies it’s going to get, and the reason for that is a new gig it’s set to star in.
That’s right, RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT is being readied to take part in the 2016 GoldRush Rally (#GR8EST). It seems we are going to see a huge number of professionally prepared and backed cars at this year’s event which is not something, we reckon, the privateers who enter the rally just for the fun of it would like very much. GR has evolved from a recreational event into a business venture.
At any rate, the GoldRush-bound RENNtech Mercedes AMG GT boasts a full upgrade package, beginning with an aero kit. This “Prototype Aero Kit” consists of a front splitter, side rocker panels, rear diffuser with tailpipes, and an adjustable DTM wing. The kit is complemented with a set of ADV1-built RENNtech 10.2 Super-Light Wheels, measuring 20-inch front and 21-inch rear, and coil-over suspension.
Engine-wise, the GT has got an ECU upgrade, stage 1 turbo upgrade, high-flow air filters and a stainless steel exhaust system with downpipes and 200-cell catalytic converter. The result of all this is a total output of 716 horsepower and 656 lb-ft of torque.
