Simultaneously with the launch of the limited edition M5 Competition in the UK, BMW is also releasing a limited version of the super saloon in America, thus maximizing the car’s time out in the spotlight. The U.S. model is called BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver and it’s limited to 50 units.
Apart from the fact that it comes with a rather cool silver paint job, BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver is the same thing as the British version, which is to say it’s an M5 Competition Package with the power boosted to 600 horsepower and a bunch of hard-core M goodies added to make it less comfortable but faster.
So with 600 hp and maximum torque of 516 lb-ft at the disposal of your right foot, you’ll be able to hit 60 mph in BMW M5 Pure Metal Silver in just 3.9 seconds. You will enjoy better cornering capabilities too, thanks to 20-inch rims, lowered sport suspension, Active M differential, M specific Servotronic steering system, and a tailored M mode in the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system.
But the biggest attraction of this limited edition M5 remains its paint color which is a very delicate and expensive job and very hard to make. So it’ll also be a pain in the butt to maintain properly. And because of it the M5 Silver Pure costs $130,900 plus $995 Destination and Handling charge.
