Already the 2016 Monterey Car Week is shaping up to be one awesome event. We were just taking about the new Koenigsegg that’ll be introduced at the event, now check this out. Mercedes-Benz is bringing a new concept to the show called the Vision Maybach 6.
Not much is known about this mysterious car apart from what can be deduced from the dark teaser photo. But the very fact that Daimler has built a Vision Maybach 6 concept means they are not giving up on the Maybach brand like they did a few years ago and that alone is a cause for celebration. This concept could be the harbinger for what’s to come the revitalized Maybach brand, and it could be a bespoke luxury coupe in the same guise as Rolls-Royce Wraith or Dawn, or maybe even a new super saloon model.
What is no not so good about this whole thing is what the concept looks like. Going with what we can see in the teaser/preview photo, Vision Maybach 6 looks like what Lincoln managers would reject as an old-fashioned design. Large chrome teeth and overly curvaceous body lines are old clichés in car design that don’t arouse the interest of the modern customer who prefers something more sleek, elegant, and simple. Still, we should wait and see the six-meter long barge in its full glory before judging it.
