Not wanting to be left behind in the pickup truck frenzy that’s going on in Texas at the moment with all the major manufacturers trying to attract customers with Lone Star-themed special editions, Nissan announced the launch of the Texas Titan Package for its main contender in this segment. This model comes with features Nissan thinks the Texans would appreciate.

The 2017 Nissan Texas Titan package is offered for XD, Crew Cab 4×4 and 4×2 models in SV and SL grades with choice of advanced Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel or 5.6-liter Endurance V8 gasoline engines. The main highlights of the package include a special chrome grille and 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, but you also get metallic-finish kick plates, Texas TITAN floor mats and badging, and chrome exhaust finishers.

As for the power and performance of the engines offered for the 2017 Titan, the Cummins 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel is rated at 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque and the 5.6-liter Endurance V8 rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. The former comes with an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission and V8 gasoline engine with a 7-speed automatic transmission.
