Adding yet another model to their 43 range, powered by a sweet twin-turbo V6 engine, AMG announced the launch of the 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4Matic Coupe. Will the introduction of this great engine enhance the appeal of the unusual GLC Coupe?

That remains to be seen. But on paper the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe seems to have some really juicy specs. What you get with this model is a coupe-like SUV with a 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque 3.0-litre V6 with direct injection and bi-turbocharging, mated to an AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution of 31:69 and a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with shortened shift times.

That is basically all the technicality you need to know about the GLC 43. As for the result of this complex system, it enables the sizable SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and reach a limited top speed of 250 km/h. Meanwhile because it is only a V6 the fuel consumption remains at the very respectable level of 10.9 urban, 7.0 extra urban, and 8.4 l/100 km combined, with CO2 emissions of 192 g/km.

Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe also boasts other goodies borrowed from its big brother the GLC 63, such as multi-chamber air suspension system AIR BODY CONTROL with adaptive damping adjustment, to have some off-road worthiness. But the looks of the car remain the same which means the biggest hurdle in the way of anyone liking it is still very much in place.
