Introduced at the beginning of 2017, the new Kia Stinger fastback sport sedan is slated to hit the European markets as the year comes to a close. The Korean Panamera will enter production in the second half of this year so that it can be available in time for a fourth quarter launch.
Announcing the launch date Kia has also confirmed the specifications of the European Kia Stinger, and it’s pretty much the same as everywhere else apart from perhaps the addition of a 2.2 liter diesel powertrain. The 220 PS and 450 Nm fuel burner complements the petrol engines range which includes a 225 PS/353 Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder ‘Theta’ engine and a 370 PS/510 Nm Lamba V6 unit from Hyundai. The fastest Stinger can accelerate from 0-to-100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds and tops out at 270 km/h.
Among the main highlights of the 2018 Kia Stinger there are the electronic eight-speed automatic transmission, optional all-wheel-drive (RWD standard), Drive Mode Select, sport tuned chassis and suspension with Dynamic Stability Damping Control (DSDC), variable ratio rack-mounted motor driven power steering system (R-MDPS), available Brembo brakes, a very stingy design, a host of safety gear from Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to Driver Attention Alert (DAA), height-adjustable Head-Up Display (HUD), 7.0 and 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and available 720-watt, 15-speaker Harman-Kardon sounds system.
