So after a number of painfully exciting teaser, Horacio Pagani of Pagani Automobili green-lighted the online debut of his latest and finest creation, the Pagani Huayra Roadster. The drop top version of the Huayra hard top has been the most challenging project ever undertaken by the prestigious car maker which, of course, means there is a lot more to this car than just a removable carbon top in place of the regular roof.
Pagani Huayra Roadster was designed and built using “La Bellezza” philosophy which in its essence means a beautiful balance between art and science. And that is what this car is. It is technically brilliant and aesthetically pleasing, and it also has that unique quality that you can’t put your finger on but know that it’s present, and that is what makes it a piece of art. Well, that and all the exotic material used in making it such as carbon and titanium and glass (in the removable roof) and of course the leather adorning the interior.
The first hyper roadster to be lighter than its coupe sister, the Pagani Huayra Roadster is a serious performance machine with track tune suspension and such taut chassis and aerodynamic properties that enables it to pull 1.8 Gs. The topless hyper machine shares its twin-turbo V12 AMG-built engine with other Huayra models, but here it makes 764 horsepower and over a 1,000 Nm of torque, which is enough to wreak havoc on the sturdiest of toupees. We should mention the Huayra comes with two roof options, one a lightweight carbon arrangement with a glass bit in the middle and a fabric and carbon cover which is a bit of a faff to erect but delightfully vintage looking when it’s up.
Pagani Huayra Roadster is limited to 100 copies, all of which have already been sold at an undisclosed but undoubtedly dear price. You will find the technical specs of the car below…
