What better way to celebrate the 40th anniversary of your flagship model than with a special, limited edition? It’s especially up BMW’s alley since they are the king of limited edition. And so they are celebrating the 40th birthday of the 7er with a very special model called BMW 7 Series Edition 40 Jahre.

Now, more often than not not BMW special editions are just ordinary models with a special badge put on them that cost an arm and a leg. In the case of the BMW 7 Series Edition 40 Jahre, though, you do get a lot more value seeing as this one is marking an important milestone for a very remarkable model. They could not mess around this time. Another reason why they couldn’t pull their usual tricks with the 40 Jahre is because it comes in 200 copies only, each tailored to individual customer specifications. Following its debut at the 2017 IAA motor show the edition models will be on offer from October 2017 with either a standard or a long wheelbase in conjunction with all six, eight and twelve-cylinder engines available for the BMW 7 Series.
