With only a few weeks to go until the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin took the wraps off their latest creation, and it’s yet another version of the Vantage. Not that we’re complaining or anything, but there is so many variants you make of a certain model without repeating yourself. Anyway, the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 SE is a track-inspired road car with superb performance.

The headlines about this car are certainly attention-grabbing. Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Special Edition, limited to 100 units, weighs 100kg less than a standard V12 Vantage S, and the yet the output of its 6.0 liter engine is boosted to 600 PS. It also comes with a full titanium exhaust system with centre outlets which means it sounds incredibly dirty as well.

But that’s nothing compared to the way this car looks. The GT3 features a race car-inspired aero kit consisting of new flared front wings, massive front splitter, side skirts, and rear diffuser, as well as a GT3-spec rear wing. There is also carbon fibre bonnet, a lithium ion race-derived battery, carbon-fibre door casings, optional carbon fibre roof, optional weight-saving polycarbonate rear window and rear quarter windows.

With cars like this there is always the worry that they have turned into a bone-crushing race car with a tax disc. It looks cool, but you can’t really drive them on the street unless you are prepared to put up with the terrible ride and the lack of creature comfort. That appears to be exactly the case with the Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Special Edition.

The interior of this car features a full carbon fibre centre stack and touch-sensitive control array; race-derived carbon fibre sports seats; and Alcantara trim. You can order some bespoke options from ‘Q’ department, but they tend to be jolly expensive.
