The new Jurassic Park-themed commercial for the Buick Encore called ‘Dinosaur’ is an all-out effort to convince the customers that in today’s world what you want is small and nimble rather than big and heavy. So they liken cars of this segment to dinosaurs, which is a bit harsh.
“There’s a misconception in the luxury car market that the best amenities and technology are limited to larger vehicles,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick Marketing. “With vehicles like the Encore and Verano, Buick is redefining customers’ expectations with a great combination of content, efficiency and passenger space in a smaller overall package.”
Buick does have a point. Nimble is good, but you don’t want to be crushed by one of these ‘dinosaurs’ in your small Encore. There is no denying bigger cars are better at protecting their occupants.
