Sillicon Valley based electric sportscar maker Tesla Motors is bringing the right-hand-drive version of their Roadster model to the British market. The UK model apparently comes with some tweaks here and there and new equipments. But it also comes with a hefty price tag of £86,950 which, despite the fact that you pay much less tax for it and can park free of charge in London, is still hard to justify!

Tesla Roadster UK includes a suite of unique noise-reduction materials, an upgraded sound system and other enhancements that make it ideal for daily commuting or weekend drives. But it’s not any different than American models technically. You still get almost seven thousand laptop batteries as the engine and can drive it for 200 miles on a single charge. Mind you if you dive it like your trouser’s on fire, you’ll get much less mileage!

You can plug-in and charge the Tesla Roadster through any conventional 220-volt sockets, but it also can be fully or partially recharged by solar or wind power.

The right-hand-drive model is our response to growing demand from high-performance car buyers in the UK who are also interested in their impact on the environment,” said Cristiano Carlutti, Tesla’s Vice President for European Sales and Operations. “Tesla is dramatically expanding its retail footprint in Europe, we look forward to building our community of owners and fans throughout the continent.”
