Every year Swiss Company Rinspeed which mainly specializes in making crazy cars unveils a new concept car for the Geneva Motor Show. In the last couple of years though they have used their lunacy in a more green way and tried to come up with green solutions for transportation problems! Check out the latest brainchild of Rinspeed which is called the UC? which stands for Urban Commuter.

Despite its length of 2.60 meters, the UC apparently can challenge the trains and the whole public transportation system! You see they say it’s a new mobility concept that integrates individual car ownership and public transportation. It’s actually better than that, because it is also a laptop with wheels, or as Rinspeed put it a web-based car!

Harman International provides the permanent 3G internet connection for the car plus VoIP2Car technology which provides IP telephone service, video chat, video conferences, e-mail and many more features. Rinspeed boss Frank M. Rinderknecht says: “Rinspeed UC is a new and highly emotional web-based car world that interweaves individual and public transport in an intelligent way. We want to create a community of people who are open for a new definition of mobility.”

This two-seater Fiat Topolino lookalike is powered by an electric powertrain which delivers 130 nm of torque, enough to give the car a top speed of 120 km/h, because it’s so light, and a range of 105 kilometers on a single charge.It also has 195/40 R 17 Pirelli tires

It also has one really really cool feature and that is the lack of steering wheel! In fact as you see in the picture of the interior which by the way seems to be designed by a four year old, it comes with a force-feedback joystick which operates via Space Drive drive-by-wire system. This is an amazing and groundbreaking technology, but not still suitable for the real world.
