Volvo S60 Crashed Unexpectedly During Press Demo

As you know Volvo has developed an advanced collision warning system for the new S60 sedan which is supposed to detect obstacles ahead and automatically apply the brakes to avoid hitting them. Recently they set up an event to show off the capabilities of this system to the press, but it went wrong quite badly! Yep, the car went straight ahead and crashed. A few years ago when Mercedes tried to show their collision detection system to the media something similar happened and a S-Class were smashed. Although they said they forgot the system was switched off, like Volvo as they say a human error caused the accident. But come to think about it, these cases raise the question does this system really work?!
