The A1 Samurai Blue is not a new special edition, but a one-off model as Audi’s tribute to the Japanese national soccer team.

Audi is going to sell it in an auction, and donate only part of the profit to charity! Later in 2012 they will launch a new limited edition of the A1 inspired by the Samurai Blue.

This 120-hp Audi A1 1.4 TFSI with sport suspension is wrapped in blue and white which are the same color of the soccer team outfit, accented by the red of the Japanese flag. The 18-inch wheels with their exclusive polygonal design are likewise painted red.

But it’s inside the cabin where you really get to grips with the idea of Samurai Blue. The interior equipment is black, with contrasting stitching in blue and corresponding colorful accents for the air vent nozzles, inlays, center console and floor mats.

“Blue Samurai” is the nickname for Japan’s national soccer team. Blue and white are the colors of the soccer jerseys for both men and women. The Japanese men are the reigning Asian champions, while the women have been even more successful in the world soccer arena: this year they won the championship title in the World Soccer Cup held in Germany.
