1950’s Themed Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition

What you see here is a 2001 Corvette Z06 dressed as a 1953 Corvette to commemorate the ultimate American sports car’s 60th anniversary.

Created by Advanced Automotive Technologies of Rochester Hills, Michigan, the car is based on a limited edition C5 Z06 ‘Vette turned into a ’53 CE. It’s not a full conversion job, as you can see the roof and the doors remain pretty much standard. The wheels too giveaway the car’s real identity.

But looking at this Torch Red car from the front or back, you’d be fooled instantly! All the good bits of the classic car are here. The lights, the grille, those awesome chrome bits on the bumpers and the sides, and the unmistakable 1950s rear-end design.

Some might find this car pretty ghastly, some might find it cool. But on the whole we absolutely love the idea of a modernized classic, because you get the amazing styling of the old car, but with modern underpinnings, which means it’ll have none of the drawbacks of the original car.

Sadly, they’ve haven’t done anything to the interior, and it remains the C5 standard, which is rubbish. The only classic bit it gets there is a white gear knob. They will make seven units of this car, one of them is currently offered by RK Motors with 8,049 miles on the clock for $69,900.
