Cadillac Ciel at General Motors Trademarks Cadillac LTS Name

News broke today that General Motors has reserved the rights for the name ‘Cadillac LTS.’ We were kinda hoping it has something to do with a production version of the magnificent Ciel concept (pictured above), but it’s not likely. Reports suggest the name is for a new large touring sedan Cadillac is working on as the new flagship, which is supposed to rival cars like BMW 7-Series and Mercedes S-Class.

This past few years Cadillac has been busy putting on a sporty face with the V-versions of the CTS, and the new ATS sports sedan. Now apparently they’re going back to their roots trying to conquer the luxury market. Their efforts with the XTS have not resulted in a formidable car to be honest. It’s luxurious for sure, but somehow it lacks the sparkle, a little something that makes a luxury car feel special.

We’ll keep you posted as the story develops.
