Those who think the new Aston Martin Vanquish is just a face-lifted DBS may not think the same after watching this. Aston has gone through every step they would go though developing an all-new car from the ground up. Evo Magazine was lucky enough to tag along with one of the engineers as he takes a prototype Vanuish for cold weather testing to a frozen lake in Sweden.

Although it seems like fun and games, it is serious business testing a supercar on ice.

The new Vanquish is based on the same platform as the DBS and gets the same V12. But it’s been tuned and tweaked in every detail. It’s not just the looks. The chassis is sportier, the engine is more powerful, ad the whole thing is sharper and more focused. The V12 makes 573 PS at 6,750 rpm, 620 Nm of torque at 5,500 rpm, translating into 0-62 mph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph.
