Matt Farah Tests 600-hp Hennessey Velociraptor

600 HP Hennessey Velociraptor at Matt Farah Tests 600 hp Hennessey Velociraptor

In this episode of TUNED Matt Farah goes all the way to Texas to meet with John Hennessey, and one of his craziest creations: the 600 horsepower Ford Raptor he calls the Velociraptor. Now, Matt owns a Ford Raptor, and he uses it as a daily driver. So he’s probably the best person to judge if the $16K it costs turning a normal Raptor into a Velociraptor is actually worth it. It does not make that much sense having a 600-hp truck, but we’d pay 16 grand just to have that 50 cal exhaust noise.

The Velociraptor uses an Eaton supercharger with some serious boost. It makes 463 hp and 483 lb/ft of torque at the wheels. The rather dramatic drivetrain loss is because, well, it’s a pickup truck – and it has massive 35? tires. Still it can keep up with most lightweight sports cars in a 0 to 60 mph challenge. And if it lost, it can run them over!
