Opel/Vauxhall released the first official images and details of their new urban car, the Adam, named after the founder of the company. The car is not as pretty as we were led to believe by all those teasers – it does in fact look like a Japanese Kei car, or a bad copy of Fiat 500 – but it is a very sophisticated city runabout. Opel says it can be customized in a million different ways!

The endless personalization options will practically allow you to build your car, but there are three default trim levels to choose from inducing JAM (fashionable/colourful), GLAM (elegant/sophisticated) and SLAM (racy/sporty).

The way you can customize them is by choosing exterior colours – including two different roof colours – interior colours, equipment and materials. There is even a couple of option for the headlining, including an LED-lit starlight roof trim. The roof is also removable, or floating as Opel puts it.

These are all extra garnish. What the Adam is like as a car?

Being a modern urban vehicle the Adam is also full of modern features and technologies. It comes with a top of the line infotainment system featuring Bluetooth, as well as connectivity for smartphones with Android or Apple iOS software. Internet-based apps are other cool feature that will attract younger buyers to this car.

Another high-end equipments you find in the Adam is the Advanced Park Assist II system that comes with Side Blind Spot Alert (SBSA). The parking assist is usually found only in the big expensive cars, and can steer the car into a parking space itself.

In terms of safety it gets front, side and head curtain airbags, as well as dual seat belt pre-tensioners for front occupants. The passenger cell is also made of high-strength steel to protect those inside in case of an accident.
