Three Spectators Killed In Serbian Rally Crash – Video

fatal rally crash at Three Spectators Killed In Serbian Rally Crash Video

Rally spectators are notorious for their desire to be as close to the action as possible. Well, if you think about it, they stay out in the field for hours just for those brief seconds that a rally car passes by. This ‘being close to the action’ thing is not terribly safe, obviously, as proved during a hill climb event in Serbia recently, where a Mitsubishi Evo lost control and killed three spectators.

We cannot really blame the driver for this tragic accident. Rallying is very technical and crashes happen all the time. If the spectators were standing in a safe distance maybe they could have run and somehow avoid the flipping car. They should have known that a rally car has very unusual behaviors around a tight bend. Let’s hope stuff like this will never happen again.
