Lewis Hamilton to Replace Michael Schumacher at Mercedes F1

Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 team is expected to confirm today that they’ve signed a three-year contract with British F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton. The young champ is leaving McLaren, the team he’s been associated with from the very beginning of his career, heading to the rival team to replace Michael Schumacher.

Where Schumi is going is unclear at this moment, but some say he will stay at Mercedes in a managerial position. He won’t be driving anymore, that’s for sure. Michael’s decision to come back from retirement must have been the worst decision he made in his whole life. He never won anything with Mercedes, not even a pole position.

Hamilton’s contract is said to worth $100million (£61.6million), which is a considerable sum and can make any man’s feet weak. But rumor has it that McLaren had agreed to pay Lewis what Mercedes was promising him. Ultimately Lewis decided to leave the Woking-based team for greener pastures at Mercedes. Maybe he just needed a chance.

Stay tuned for an official statement from Mercedes F1.
