Just about the only thing Fiat 500 needed to complete its range was an electric car, and that’s what it’s getting. Fiat/Chrysler released the first pictures of the production version of the Fiat 500e. It will be unveiled on the “green carpet” of the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 18, before making its global debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show.

Details such as power output, performance, range and charging time are all yet to be revealed. For now all Fiat says is that the 500e brings Italian flavor to the electric vehicle market with a unique combination of iconic 500 design, performance and range.

Looking at the pictures though, you can notice some differences between this and the normal models, such as the unique front bumper, different wheels, and of course, the fiery orange paint job. The interior is mostly white, garnished with red accents. Apart from the colors, you can also see the 500e has no gear lever, but four buttons. A rather sizable 500e badge on the dashboard is another sign that you are in something special.
