So the new Viper is here and it’s time to see what’s it like. In this review Motor Trend’s Carlos Lago looks at the SRT Viper as a car, listing its pros and cons for us. It is brutal, uncomfortable, hard tot see out of, tricky at the limit, etc. But as we learned from the new Shelby GT500, sometimes bad is good; especially when we’re talking about a big, badass American muscle car.

SRT could have made the new Viper softer and easier to live with, but they decided to keep it a real Viper. A real Viper is always angry, always edgy, and always mad. It was pointless to try and make the Viper the fastest super car either, because the Europeans have the upper hand when it comes to engineering and speed. So SRT decided to focus on fun and excitement, which is what the Viper is all about.
