Evo Pits Shelby GT500 Against Mercedes C63 AMG – Video

Some say AMG cars are European equivalent of American muscle cars. Sure, they are more sophisticated, but in essence, they are loud, fast in straight line, heavy on fuel, and great fun to drive. Those are the exact characteristics of a muscle car. So Evo thought it’s relevant to pit a Mercedes C63 AMG up against the new 2013 Shelby GT500 in a one mile drag race.

And surprise surprise, 662 horsepower beats 450. They are neck and neck until 60mph, but then the awesome power of Shelby comes to play and the AMG has to eat its dust. In fairness though, the C63 is too small and too weak to take on the mighty Ford. But that’s all the AMG you can get for the same sort of money as the GT500.
