Continuing its Centenary celebrations, Aston Martin went to Dubai to host an awesome party that attended by UAE dignitaries and Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez. The highlight of the event was a completely pointless, but undeniably cool, stunt involving the new Aston Martin Vanquish.

They airlifted the Vanquish using a helicopter and parked on the helipad of the iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, 1,000ft above the ground at the top of the sail-shaped building. So yes, as we said, pretty pointless. But it is good to see that today Aston is in such good financial health that they can pull off stunts like this. This is a company that has been in trouble for most of its 100-year history.

Aston Martin is also launching a number of limited edition Centenary Edition cars to mark its 100th anniversary.

Speaking from the helipad, Aston Martin CEO Dr Ulrich Bez said: “It is with great pride that we continue our centenary celebrations in such unique manner in the city of Dubai.

“Today we are achieving another world first – one of many for Aston Martin over the years. This is a true feat for Aston Martin and a fantastic way to begin a new century of global success for our iconic brand.”
