Toyota’s Motorsport partner Gazoo Racing released the first teaser shots of their new tuning kit for the GT86 sports car, and judging but what we’re seeing here, they’ve basically facelifted the 86 into something much more desirable.
It is officially called the GRMN Sports FR Concept in which the GRMN stands for ‘Gazoo Racing Masters of the Nürburgring’, and it’s built using the firm’s experiences from racing at the ‘Ring for many many years.
The FR concept gets new head and taillights, which draw inspiration from Toyota’s iconic models such as the Supra, modified bumpers and a big rear wing. Inside the cabin they’ve fitted it with a full roll cage, sports seats covered in leather, and racing harness. The car also gets a set of 18inch wheels.
The best part of this package, however, is the engine. Gazoo has supercharged the GT86′s 2.0 liter boxer engine and managed to get 325-hp and 318 lb-ft of torque out of it.
This car will appear at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon later this month as a concept. Chances of the FR ever becoming a production model are slim, but you never know. Fingers crossed!
