At this year’s Tokyo Auto Salon, the world’s largest custom car show after SEMA, Toyota has gone totally mad with the GT86, bringing a whole bunch of heavily modified versions of it along. They say they are showing their ‘Wild Side’ here. We like it.

The range of custom GT86 models at the show include some interesting cars that may never be produced, but they can give you some ideas for tuning your own 86.

The sickest 86 on display is the GRMN Sports FR Platimum, a 330-horsepower version of the sports car with a complete body kit, sport suspension, large wheels, and a custom interior. The engine in this car is supercharged and turbocharged at the same time. Not sure if this car will make it into the production, at least in this state, but we’re quite keen to see what effect that setup has on the GT86’s performance.

The rest of this diverse lineup includes the 86 x style Cb – a restyled retro-inspired version, 86 Modellista – the most ordinary car here which actually looks pretty good, 86 TRD Griffon – which is a bit more insane than the Modellista, and TOM’S N086V – this one looks like a simpleton.
