Opel and Vauxhall has been thinking what else can they do to the Adam city car to make it more interesting. The answer is the ROCKS concept, and it’s an urban mini-crossover, which is a niche they’ve invented to prevent this jacked-up Adam look completely pointless.

Adam ROCKS concept has raised suspension and big, chunky tires. Why would you need those in an ‘urban’ car, we have no idea. Size-wise it is the same as the normal Adam with a length of just 3.7 meters, but it’s been fitted with some off-roady body components to look tough and rugged.

The best part of this concept, probably, is the fabric roof that slides open for open-top fun. That is something the ordinary Adam will be getting in its cabrio version.

Opel says this concept is a showcase of Adam’s personalization potential, as if its 61,000 exterior variations and nearly 82,000 for the interior weren’t enough! Opel has put a lot of effort into making a proper mini car out of the Adam. But if we’re honest, it is no match for the Fiat 500.

Opel Adam ROCKS will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

“With even bolder design than any other ADAM, the ROCKS is an impressive demonstration of how much more potential for individualization our new small lifestyle car still offers after its market launch. It combines the toughness of a crossover with the coolness of open air driving,” says Malcolm Ward, Opel/Vauxhall Lead Design Director. Describing the rationale behind Opel’s newest concept car, he explains: “As a symbol for fashion-led, active drivers wanting to stand out from the crowd, ADAM ROCKS is just one possible answer to the question of how new development paths for the absolutely unique car can be forged – and others will follow.”
