Citroen Celebrates WRC Success with Unique Diorama

Citroen diorama 1 545x367 at Citroen Celebrates WRC Success with Unique Diorama

Citroen is famous for doing things in unnecessarily weird, but undeniably cool, ways. So to celebrate Loeb and Elena’s nine World Rally Championship titles they came up with a fabulously detailed commemorative diorama, moulded to a real-life Citroen DS3!

This amazing 1:43 scale nine-part artwork features everything from the snow and ice of Rally Finland to the iconic ruins of the Acropolis Rally. What’s more, each rally terrain features one of the duo’s championship-winning cars, dating back to 2004 and the Citroen Xsara. The attention to details in this diorama is mind-boggling, as it includes everything you find on a real rally stage, such as cameramen, spectators,  flowers, shrubbery, even dust clouds.

Describing the model-making process, Barter said how keen he was to be part of it, saying: “When I was initially approached by Citroën about this, I was really excited. It’s definitely a once-in-a-lifetime experience so I jumped at the chance. The most enjoyable, and perhaps most challenging part was working with a DS3 to get the mould for the car, purely because it’s not something that I’ve done before and it was very important to get the mould right.”
