These photos you see here are said to be the very first look at the Lamborghini Gallardo Replacement, reportedly called the Cabrera. They seem pretty legit, based on what we have heard and seen so far on the new baby bull. And with the Frankfurt Motor Show coming up over the next few months, the leakage is timely as well.

So if this is the real deal, the Cabrera remains loyal to the Gallardo in terms of dimension and overall profile. It has the same proportions and the same chiseled overall shape as the Gallardo, while getting a new identity by taking a few cues from the Aventador and the Sesto Elemento.

AS for the engine, well, the V10s are a dying breed, but Lamborghini has showed with the Aventador that they don’t really care about what’s trendy. The Aventa has a big V12, and while everybody else has gone the dual-clutch way, it sticks to just one. The Gallardo, being the softer, cuddlier Lambo, will almost certainly use a DSG, probably supplied by parent company Audi.

We will be talking more and more about the Gallardo replacement over the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
