Riva Aquarama Lamborghini Boat Restored

Riva Aquarama is widely known as possibly the most beautiful sports boat ever created. Built by the legendary Italian manufacturer Riva Boats, the Aquarama is definitely the most exquisite sea going machine. Only this particular one is a bit more special, as it was commissioned 45 years ago by one Italian aristocrat cnamed Ferruccio Lamborghini.

The founder of Automobili Lamborghini had a great eye for beautiful and exotic machinery, so the Aquarama was a must have accessory for him. The fact that Riva used his 350 hp 4.0 V12 engine, used in the 350 GT, was just an added bonus.

Riva Aquarama Lamborghini has been recently restored to its original condition, which is really saying something, as the original condition for a Rima boat means endless hours of hard, passionate work. That is why the restoration took three years to be completed. The wooden hull was repaired; sanded and no fewer than 25 coatings were applied. The wooden interior was repaired and the seats were reupholstered in the famous Riva design; all buttons and switches were disassembled, repaired and reinstalled; and all the chrome parts have been refurbished to shine like new.

With two V12s equipped with six twin Weber carburetors (twelve in total), the Riva Aquarama Lamborghini can reach a top speed of around 48 knots, compared to 40 knots for regular Aquaramas that Riva fits with twin V8 units as standard equipment. But if my boat dealers had this boat and sold it to me at a reasonable price, I wouldn’t even bother taking it to the sea. I’d just sit at the side of the harbor with a nice glass of wine and ogle it! God it’s beautiful.
