The S-Class has always been one of the most popular Mercedes models, but the new W222 generation with its cool design and jaw-dropping technology features is beating records. The demand for different variants of the car has been so high Mercedes is introducing new shifts at the Sindelfingen plant just to keep up.

The employees at the aforementioned plant are treated to a work day extension of 30 minutes, which will be increased to 74 minutes next year. What’s more, four Saturday shifts are added and new expansion plans are put together for near future.

Mercedes has also increased production and introduced new special shifts at the Bremen plant, where they make the C-Class and the GLK-Class, and is also spending more than $2 billion on their Tuscaloosa plant in preparation for the production of the new generation C-Class as well as an all-new model, to be launched in 2015.
