As promised, Land Rover’s new special operations unit unveiled their first ever creation at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in form of the Range Rover Sport SVR. The car that turned up at the event was a camouflaged prototype, but it couldn’t have done a better job promoting the car.
Since they couldn’t show the design of the Range Rover Sport SVR, LR guys came up with this idea to promote the car using its supercar-like soundtrack. The result is a completely awesome video showing the SVR going up the Goodwood hill in a flurry of noise and funny camo patterns.
Range Rover Sport SVR owes its amazing soundtrack to a supercharged 5.0 liter V8 engine which produced 550 horsepower. It shares this engine with the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe and the Project 7, which is Jaguar’s first special operations car. Jaguar Land Rover will be using the SVR badge for their high-performance models from now one, phasing out the ‘RS’.
