Mcchip-DKR Tweaks Ferrari 599 GTO

Mcchip-DKR is not like your average chip tuner with only a couple of maps for family hatchbacks. These guys work on the most serious super cars these days, unlocking their hidden potential through bespoke ECU maps and sometime sport exhaust systems.

The latest super car to be sent to Mcchip for a code treatment is the extremely rare and extremely desirable Ferrari 599 GTO. The limited edition Ferrari arrived at the workshop in need of a mild tweak so its 6.0 liter V12 engine – which it shares with the legendary Enzo – can let go of the extra 20 horses it’s been hiding all these years!

After a 4 hour ECU remap and a dyne test, Ferrari 599 GTO pumps out 691 PS and 678 Nm of torque; a decent increase over the standard 670PS / 620Nm. This is, of course, not the engine’s full potential, but pretty gain for a no-fuss chip upgrade.

Ferrai 599 GTO, in case you don’t know, is a special edition of the 599 GTB Berlinetta, launched in 2011 as a road-going version of the 599XX track car. Limited to only 599 units, the GTO is these days among the most coveted 599 variants and Ferrari GT models in general.
