As is the case with most of MEC Design’s tuning kits, they start out with a good base, a complete and well-rounded package, and then gradually update and improve on it. So here’s a new version of their Scossa Rossa program for Ferrari 458 Italia and Spider with even more “joie de vivre” than before.
MEC Design Ferrari 458 Scossa Rossa boasts a subtle yet effective carbon fiber body kit consisting of 3 piece front lip spoiler, spoiler corners for front opening, side skirts, and 3 piece rear diffuser with underride protection. These bits have a profound effect on the way the 458 looks, especially if the car is red.
The kit is complemented with a a set of tuner’s own meCCon type CCd5 wheels in sizes 9,5Jx21” at the front and 12,5Jx21” on the rear, with 245 and 345 tires respectively. The rims are finished in gloss black with matt black center and Ferrari yellow bolts to match the brake calipers.
The wheels wouldn’t look so good if it weren’t for the MEC Design lowering suspension system. It lowers the ride height by a staggering 60mm. Another extreme feature of MEC Design Ferrari 458 Scossa Rossa is the sports exhaust system sound version ‘Apocalypse’ which sounds like what it says on the tin – apocalyptic!
This time around MEC has also provided a good interior treatment for the Ferrari, consisting of carbon/ leather sports steering wheel, 6 piece dashboard, 3 piece middle console and 4 piece door carbon fiber trim set, Ferrari scuff plate/ entry guard, floor mats, and LED light set.
