We have all seen and drilled over the new Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe in press pictures and under the dishonest lights of the motors shows. Now, and we think for the first time, a production unit has been spotted on the road in Almkerk, Netherlands. And it looks hot!

The sports coupe is the spiritual successor of the magnificent CL-Class and boasts the same air of absolute luxury and exclusivity. Based on the same platform as the W222 S-Class sedan, Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe mixes unrivaled comfort and convenience with the outright performance of its AMG heart. That’s a pretty unbeatable combination.

Under the bonnet lies a 5.5 liter bi-turbo V8 engine developing 585 horsepower and an enormous 900 Nm of torque. That is enough to take the heavy Mercedes S63 AMG Coupe from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.3 second, and on to a top speed of 250 km/h before the limiter kicks in.

You can tell the S63 AMG Coupe apart from normal models by its unique bumper which feature large air intakes and a spoiler lip at the front and a neat diffuser at the back with quad tailpipes. The AMG also sits lower on larger wheels, and benefits from a healthy dose of carbon fiber inside the cabin.
