So yesterday we showed you the first pictures of the all-new 2015 Audi Q7 and reckoned the official material would drop soon. Well, it did, and confirmed the early reports about the Q7 going on a diet and getting slimmer and more efficient.

The 2015 Audi Q7 has lost a whopping 325 kg, thanks to a lightweight, multimaterial body and an all-new chassis. Despite that the SUV still weighs 1,995 kilograms, which is hardly featherweight. That means you better avoid the entry-level engine, which is a 3.0 TDI engine with 272PS, and go straight for the Q7 e-tron quattro model which has a hybrid system capable of generating 370 horsepower and over 700 Nm of torque, while returning 166 mpg!

Thew new Q7 is not only lighter than its predecessor, it is also slimmer, measuring 37 millimetres shorter and 15 millimetres narrower. The car has also undergone dramatic changes in terms of styling, but the person who did the new look apparently had access only to a ruler. All the lines are straight and, if we’re honest, rather unappealing. Same goes for the interior which is neater and cleaner than ever, but also, we’re afraid, just as boring.

Among the innovative new features in the 2015 Audi Q7 we can mention the Matrix LED lights; the latest MMI infotainment system with natural speech control for connectivity features; two-zone deluxe air conditioning system; new color combos for interior and exterior; 3D sound system; and a 12.3-inch TFT virtual cockpit system instead of traditional instruments.
