For some reason Mercedes-Benz has taken to announcing their new models with sketches these days. After revealing that they are developing a pickup truck with this cool rendering, they have now come up with this sketch to let us now the rumored Mercedes GLC Coupe is indeed in the works and a concept version of it will be revealed in China in the near future.

Not that long ago Mercedes released the GLE Coupe as their coupe utility vehicle and rival for BMW X6. But they quickly realized it was the new BMW X4 they had to worry about and not the X6. So a crack team of designers scrambled to turn the GLE into the Mercedes GLC Coupe, and you can see the result of their efforts at the 2015 Shanghai Auto Show later this month.

To be based on the C-Class platform, Mercedes GLC Coupe is expected to arrive some time in 2017 boasting a range of fuel-efficient petrol and diesel engines as well as a hybrid powertrain. The car is a long way off and it is too soon to start speculating about its spec, but we would like to see an AMG version with the 2.0 liter turbo unit from the A45.
