BMW announced the launch of a production version of the M4 GTS. Limited to 700 units with 300 slated for the U.S. market, the 2016 BMW M4 GTS is pitched as the “most agile, radical and powerful M4 ever,” and comes with a number of ‘firsts’.

On of the first for the special edition BMW M4 GTS is the use of gold wheels which, in combination with the GTS aero kit, really does give a radical look. Another first is the use of water injection system for the turbochargers which boosts the output to 494 horsepower. The GTS also has a track-ready chassis and uprated brakes and suspension, the net result of which is a Nurburgring time of 7 minutes 28 seconds.

Every part of BMW M4 GTS is an M car fan’s wet dream. The body, as mentioned, features an advanced aero kit which consists of adjustable front splitter and rear wing,carbon hood and trunk lid, new carbon diffuser, and titanium exhaust system. The GTS also comes with LED headlights and OLED taillights, the latter is another first for a production car. It’s like BMW saw all the tuned M4s out there and said, heck, we can do better ourselves. And they did.

So with 500 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, BMW M4 GTS is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in an astonishing 3.8 seconds and reach a track top speed of 305 km/h. While it’s doing that, you are cocooned in a cabin full of Alcantara and carbon fiber, snug in your bucket seats with three-point harness, thinking if it was really necessary for BMW to remove the rear seats.
