Along with the new Beetle Dune, Volkswagen is also introducing at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show a special edition version of the car inspired by the 1970s Jeans Bug. The 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim is supposed to be a hip and trendy model harking back to the good the old days.

Limited to 2,000 units, Volkswagen Beetle Denim comes in two special colors of Pure White and Stonewashed Blue, while convertible models get a Dark Blue soft top with a new textured fabric. Interior highlights include a unique light-blue-and-silver dashpad and jeans-inspired seat pockets with small Beetle tabs in red, plus light blue denim-color cloth upholstery with white piping and dark blue leatherette accents.

2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim is powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged TSI engine with 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Equipment-wise, the car boasts the new MIB II Composition Color infotainment system with a 5.0” touchscreen and AUX-in, SD card slots, USB multimedia interface with iPhone and iPod device connectivity, reverse camera display, and Bluetooth.
