And that occasion is winning the “Goldenes Lenkrad” or Golden Steering Wheel award from the readers of Auto Bild magazine. Bild readers picked the R8 V10 Plus as the sports car of the year and worthy of the prestigious award, and Audi wrapped a V10 Plus in gold as a thank you.

That celebratory Gold Audi R8 V10 Plus is wrapped almost entirely in the shimmering color, except for the side blades, mirror caps and aero parts, plus the wheels, which are in gloss black. The car also features silver mesh grille and a yellow stripe with black edges accentuating it. As for what will be done with this car when they are done celebrating, Audi has said nothing, but chances are they will keep it at the showroom as an eye candy next to the Golden Steering award.

This Gold Audi R8 V10 Plus is identical to the stock model mechanically, boasting a 5.2 liter V10 engine developing 610 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque.
