American tuner Callaway may not be a household name in Europe as a tuner, but the racing Corvettes of their motorsport arm have been a common sight at European race tracks for years. The firm’s latest endeavor will see three Callaway C7 GT3-R competing in the 2016 ADAC GT Masters.

The American tuner has not revealed many technical details about the 2016 Callaway C7 GT3-R apart from pointing out that they “have exhibited tremendous potential, achieving top-5 lap times, including recording a second-fastest lap time” in pre-season testing. That is reassuring, but mote than customer racers are safe in the knowledge that previous racing Corvettes have always been among the top contenders in every category they entered.

The 2016 ADAC GT Masters series consists of seven event, beginning at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben which was held this past weekend, and continuing at various prestigious venues in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands. The three Callaway C7 GT3-R race cars (Whelen Motorsports, AutoArena.de, and Valvoline) will be competing against a series of other high-end sports car including Audi R8, BMW M6, Mercedes AMG GT, Porsche 911 and Lamborghini Huracan.
