Half a million dollars these days can buy you some properly hot wheels like McLaren 675LT or Lexus LFA. But if we were to buy a super car for that kind of money, we’d walk right pass all the new stuff and get an old McLaren SLR. We’d go for this brute and then have it tweaked by RENNtech.

They have done a wonderful job with this car here, improving the power, performance, and drivability of this royal monster with a neat upgrade program they call R1-Performance Package. With this kit on, RENNtech McLaren SLR jumps to 748 horsepower and 748 lb-ft of torque (from 626 hp and 575 lb-ft).

The effect of that extra oomph on the performance is profound, but that’s not all you get with RENNtech McLaren SLR R1. The tuner has also included in the package a limited-slip differential that makes the most of that power. The R1 includes ECU Upgrade, Pulley Upgrade, Dual Intercooler Pump Upgrade and Stainless Steel Sport Muffler which adds 94 lb-ft on its own.

RENNtech has not fitted this SLR with any visual or interior upgrades. For that you have to turn to other tuners like Hamann or Mansory, or commission your own kit.
