Lotus has been rolling out many new variants of their current lineup lately, distinguished from their counterparts by virtue of a number. The latest is the Lotus Exige Sport 380 which comes with red accents and enough power and lightness to make it the fastest Exige ever.

These new Lotus models are named for the amount of horsepower they make. But since Exige 375 was not easy on the tongue they rounded things up and called it the Lotus Exige Sport 380. The thing is, this car sits above the Exige 350. Now, who would walk past the cheaper car and get this one for an extra 30 horses? How a big a difference does that make, anyway?

You may not want this Exige for its power – although it is hella fast with a 0-60 mph time of 3.5 seconds, dry weight of just 1,066 kg, and a top speed of 178 mph – but may want for the way it looks. As mentioned, Lotus Exige Sport 380 comes lots of red accents adorning its carbon fiber aero parts, including front splitter, revised front access panel, new rear wing and rear diffuser surround.

The car also gets Lotus’ Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) and an open-gate shifter for its six-speed manual gearbox which is very cool, and it is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres as standard. AP Racing brakes and carbon fibre sports seats trimmed with either Alcantara, leather or tartan are among the other highlights of this £67,900 (€89,900) sports car.
