VW Arteon Teaser 600x266 at VW Arteon Teased for 2017 Geneva Debut

Looks like Volkswagen is finally going to launch a decent looking sedan. Well, at least that’s what we can hope seeing this sketch they have released, announcing the debut of the car, called VW Arteon, at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show next March.

The teaser photo for VW Arteon shows a sleek and handsome sedan with just enough slope to its roof to qualify as a four-door coupe. The car also has a large tailgate instead of a regular boot, which sort of makes if a discount Porsche Panamera for those who can’t afford the real thing.

Being a Volkswagen, the car probably won’t sacrifice passenger comfort and interior space for the sake of good looks. But hey, if the production version of the Arteon looks enough 70 percent as cool as what’s depicted in this photo, it’s going to be hit. The new sedan, which will sit above the Passat in the lineup, heralds the dawn of a new era for Volkswagen design. That means this car will invariably affect the design of other future Volkswagen cars, which is a good thing.

Besides the sketch, Volkswagen has also revealed instruction on how to pronounce the new car’s name. In saying ‘Arteon’ you have to put the stress on ‘Art’ so as to emphasize the fancy looks. Just imagine correcting people when they pronounce the name of your car wrong… you’re going to look like such a dork!
